Welcome To Ms. Sears' Homepage

Hi, I am Ms. Sears and this is my third year teaching, but my second year at Huron Academy. For my first year I taught seventh and eighth grade Math and Language Arts at Great Oaks Academy.  This is the second year I have been teaching Reading Recovery and this year I will be working closely with first and second grade on their reading and writing skills.  I am very excited to be working with the students and parents.  Reading Recovery is a great program and Iso far it has been a great success at Huron Academy.

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I majored in Mathematics and minored in English Language Arts.  When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my wonderful boyfriend Mike and my family.  I like to read and do a lot of outdoor activities like jet ski, snomobile, bike ride, and play sports.  My favorite thing to do is go to a Tigers or Red Wings game.  I am looking forward to getting to know the students better and I hope this will be a great year!

Reading Recovery students are in the "roaming" phase.  We are determining what they know how to do already, and they are showing me that they know so much!
